The only way to be successful in business is if you truly enjoy being in business, which means that you personally want to feel a lot of joy and happiness when running it, where you are motivated from an intrinsic perspective. But when you start to run your business because you are trying to chase shiny objects or you want to look good, you start to shift that intrinsic motivation to extrinsic motivation, and given time, your business WILL start to suffer.This is exactly what happened to my next podcast guest, international speaker, trainer, and author, Curt Mercadante, where he and I talk about how his seven-figure agency started to lose its momentum after Curt was no longer intrinsically motivated to see it continue.
